Doggy Dan Training

Doggy Dan Training

Doggy Dan“ is an online course for dog owners who have trouble with their four-legged friends and those who need tips or better a step-by-step (video) instruction on how to raise a puppy.

„Doggy Dan“s (creator of the course) real name is Daniel Abdelnoor, he lives in Auckland, New Zealand and is a qualified, professional dog trainer who holds advanced certificates from the world famous Jan Ferell („The Dog Listener”). He is also an author (his book is titled ˈWhat the Dogs Taught Me About Being a Parentˈ), speaker and active member of the APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers).

Here is an interview with Daniel Abdelnoor on Breakfast Television:

What’s inside?

Daniel’s online course covers the most common dog behavior issues like ˈnot responding to commandsˈ, ˈpulling on the leashˈ, ˈnot coming when calledˈ and 31 more. The interesthing thing about this course is that it’s basically a video course (there are more than 250 videos in the member area) so you not only read instructions but actually see how to execute them.

There are 6 sections in the member area:

  1. ˈPack Leaderˈ: this section includes 22 videos, but also audios, articles and PDFs free to download

  2. ˈEveryday Tools & Techniquesˈ with 18 videos (plus articles and PDFs)

  3. ˈPuppy Trainingˈ with 31 videos (plus articles and PDFs)

  4. ˈVideo Diary of an 8 week old puppy through to 1 yearˈ (called ˈProject Mosesˈ) with 68 videos

The two sections mentioned above are particularly interesting as many dog lovers get a puppy (and oftentimes are really clueless when the first behavioir issues appear). In fact ˈProject Mosesˈ is the most popular feature of this online course.

  5. ˈDog Problemsˈ with 56 Videos (plus articles and PDFs)

  6. ˈDog Trainingˈ with 41 Videos (plus articles and PDFs)

In this video you can see how the member area actually looks like:

The cool thing about this online course is that you can try it for 3 days for only $1. During the trial period you have access to all the 6 sections mentioned above. You don’t even need a credit card as you can use paypal to pay the symbolic $1. During the trial you can cancel at any time by sending a short email to doggydan@theonlinedogtrainer.com.

After the 3-day-trial, you will be billed $37 per month (so make sure to cancel before the end of the trial period if you want to), but also are free to cancel anytime. Also, if you decide to become a monthly member you have a 100% 60-day “no questions asked” money back guarantee.

Monthly members, that is buyers who decide to pay a montly fee, additionally get 3 bonuses: The first bonus is access to a forum where you can not only read about dog issues of other members but also ask Daniel and his team questions.

The second bonus are weekly video updates and the third bonus is access to the library of downloads, that allow you for example to listen to audio files in your car.

Bottom line:

The strength of this course lies in its visual nature – there are more than 250 videos on specific dog behaviour issues that you can watch, pause or rewatch as often as you like. That’s actually a second advantage of an online course: you can watch a video on a specific issue (whenever, whereve) that bothers you, pause, try the recommended instructions and return back to the course.

There are also pdfs that you can print if you like having something tangible and audio files you can listen to in your car or while walking or jogging.

The proposed methods and techniques for dog issues of any kind (34 specific issues are covered) work – simply take a look at the amount of positives reviews. Even the Royal New Zealand Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) recommends this course.

Little secret by the way: You might even know some of the methods/techniques, but it’s execution, consistency and little details that make a big difference when it comes to dog training.

Besides the videos there is a second highly valuable feature: the forum. In the forum you can ask Dan (a professional dog trainer) and his team directly for advice regarding your dog‘s behaviour issues.

Unfortunately you need to become a monthly member to do so and $37 per month are not a small number. (Luckily monthly members can cancel any time.)

In any case, as there is a 3 day-trial for only $1 (where you don’t even need a credit card and a simple way to cancel (per email) the course is definitely worth trying out.
